Evening Calm
About the Blend
This blend is more than the smells and tastes to lull you into the night’s end. Sleep is one of the most important reparative functions in our body. When our body rests, blood flow to our brain increases to assist the removal of toxins and waste products from the brain. This allows our cells to repair themselves more effectively and to help the body recover from stresses of the day.
Longans contain Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) which signals the brain to relax, and to suppress other signals that bring about insomnia, anxiety and stress. Red dates facilitate this process by stimulating the “signal receivers” in our brain so that we can fall into slumber sooner, while serving as nourishment for the blood with its high iron content.
Goji berries have also been shown to promote the quality of sleep, through an important neurological signal, the Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), which can help relieve anxiety and protect the brain against free radicals stemming from oxidative stresses.
Alongside its soothing scents, Lavender and Chamomile flowers also serve as digestive aids, helping to relieve nausea through reduced gastrointestinal spasms and also quell bloatedness arising from increased bacteria and gas trapped in our stomachs after a heavy meal.
Wake up feeling well-rested, refreshed and reinvigorated!
